What are insoles?
If you have a deformity or pain in the foot, you can be treated with a custom made insole. The insole will follow the shape of the foot and assists both the longitudinal and metatarsal arch to regain or retain its natural anatomical shape.
In some cases, you will need a wedge under the insole or a metatarsal pad to support the foot during gait. The orthotist will decide if you need that and make sure that the insole match your shoe perfectly.
Some common deformities in the ankle and foot are for example Pes calcaneus valgus, Pes varus or Hallux valgus. Plantar fasciitis and Morton’s neuroma are common conditions when it comes to pain.
