What is a prosthesis?
Prostheses are orthopedic devices that replace a missing body part.
A prosthesis can be made to fit many different body parts for example arm, hip, knee, leg and foot. Patients who have amputated a leg can be amputated above the knee, through the knee or below the knee.
The most common cause of amputation in Norway is lack of blood circulation from an underlying disease, for example diabetes.
To hold the prostheses in place one can use for example pin or vacuum suspension. We at Bahr Innovation create definitive sockets, test sockets and alternative production models for prostheses.
