Wire – The wire is a combination of steel and plastic, which, compared to the kevlar option, allows more thread to fit into the free lock wheel. This makes it easier to open the orthosis.
Kevlar (Beta) – Kevlar is more durable and doesn’t curl as easily but it may result in less thread in the dial fastener wheel. However, it works very well when used with a hook guide.
We always recommend using a hook guide along with the thread so you can easily hook it on and off, allowing for simpler opening of the orthosis.
