- Matte prevents squeaking noise that may occur when using the orthosis. It has a slightly greyer colour and rougher texture that create some friction when putting the orthosis on.
- Smooth is easier to put on, though the smooth surfaces rub togehter and sometimes cause a squeaking noise.
